Shook.

Today’s lesson in social media management comes to us courtesy of our daily newspaper and a local nonprofit working hard to keep us off the pipe, among other things.

The lesson is quick and simple, but if not learned, will lead to oodles of embarrassment (for you), and doubling over laughter (for us).

Are you ready?

Here goes.

“SWITCH OUT OF YOUR BUSINESS ACCOUNT AND BACK INTO YOUR PERSONAL ACCOUNT THE SECOND YOU HAVE FINISHED WHATEVER YOU WERE DOING BECAUSE OTHERWISE YOU MIGHT FORGET THAT YOU ARE LOGGED INTO THE BUSINESS ACCOUNT AND START BROWSING FOR PERSONAL SCHTUFF. AND WE WILL ALL FIND OUT AND FORWARD IT AROUND AND LAUGH.”

That was a tad long and rambling… so in order to drive the lesson home, a picture’s worth a thousand words.

Exhibit A.

And B.

Excuse me for one second.

* runs around the corner *

BWAHAHAHAAHHAAHAHHAHAAHAHAHHAHAAHA

* takes deep breath *

BWAHAHAHAAHHAAHAHHAHAAHAHAHHAHAAHA

* composes self and comes back to continue lesson *

Switching between accounts is now easier than ever. (Remember the dark days of having to log in and out on Instagram UGH! We were savages!) But of course, mistakes can still happen. And this one is VERY easy to make. (In fact, … and that time they brought Abraham Lincoln into it. )

I’ve fallen victim to it as well – a few times I’ve liked friends’ pictures while logged in as one of my clients. My friends were fully clothed tho so… I guess I haven’t made THIS particular error myself. This one is a bit of a doozy.

And while nobody’s head should roll (or wait…ewwww… is that the impact the nut made?), we all know, screenshots last forever.

So, let’s do better (or hire someone to help).

And by “let’s” I really mean you. This only happened to you. Not us.
