“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”

– Maya Angelou

I created ‘Untold Stories’, an event and travel series, to celebrate Black women’s stories and create spaces for us to connect. I’ve hosted film nights, lectures, photo shoots, trips and retreats.

In addition to hosting my own events, I work with travel brands to curate Bermuda-based cultural events and itineraries. The Untold Stories website is launching in May 2022 – in the meantime, see details of trips below and get in touch with me to see how we can work together.

Nomadness Travel Tribe

After meeting founder, Evita Robinson at an AirBnB Festival a few years ago, it has been my goal to have a Nomadness event in Bermuda! In partnership with The Bermuda Tourism Authority, I’m excited to host the Tribe here in Bermuda and curated an itinerary with the theme ‘CREATE’, using the island as a muse for creative expression.

Chidi Ashley Travels

Chidi Ashley visited Bermuda in November 2018 and, after launching her travel company few months later, decided she wanted to bring a group to the island. The ‘Girl’s Weekend’ itinerary I developed for her group had a bit of everything – shopping, boating, history, and nightlife!

Untold Stories: Girls’ Trip with Monroe Steele

After launching my travel services, and deciding to host my first Bermuda trip, I reached out to NY-based Fashion and Lifestyle Blogger Monroe Steele, to see if she’d be interested in co-hosting the experience… she was! The 4-night schedule was jam packed with Bermuda culture and fun. Highlights included:

And Bermudian women joined us for the events – creating even more opportunities for connection! (Visit my home page to watch the recap video!)

Conde Nast Women Who Travel

“One of the biggest highlights of the trip was our local host Kristin White, who made sure to key us in to the intricacies of life on the island—and kept us keeling over with laughter—at all times.”

In 2019, Conde Nast hosted a contest as part of their Women Who Travel initiative, and the lucky winners received a weekend in Bermuda! The itinerary, which featured women-owned businesses, was developed by El Camino Travel, and I was excited to be included as both a history tour guide AND the host for the weekend. Whether out on the water, or at special dining events – it was such a pleasure meeting these women and sharing stories with them about Bermuda.

Untold Stories: A Weekend with Archel Bernard

“Thank you for sharing yourselves, your space your time, your words, your support, your laughter, your tears. (The) Retreat was an immensely special day, and I will hold the memories closely & dearly!”

After connecting with social entrepreneur Archel Bernard on social media, we discussed having her to come to Bermuda to share her messages of women empowerment and self-care.  The weekend I curated included a public dialogue, a private roundtable with local leaders, a retreat, and a special brunch.

She Did That: Film Night with Renae Bluitt

A sold out audience of mostly Black Bermudian women were inspired by “She Did That.”

For over an hour, we were wowed by stories of resilience, creativity, and downright Black Girl Magic. After the film, I moderated a panel featuring filmmaker Renae, and local Black women entrepreneurs Kidist Emery, Nikki Fagan and Crystal Clay. We discussed tipping point moments, reaching white customers in a racially segregated country, how to break out of the habit of downplaying our accomplishments and taking the first step towards entrepreneurship.

Black Girl Magic Photoshoots

Inspired by photos from Liberian social enterprise Bombchel, I launched a photoshoot series (2016 & 2017) that features Black Bermudian women and raises money for local causes.  The photos have been celebrated around the island, and over $2500 raised for charity.
